As part of our commitment to Widening Access to Medicine (WAMS), PCMD undertakes a programme of outreach activities with local schools in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset.

Sexpression UK, part of the Medsin Global Health Charity, is a medical student led organisation with branches across the UK and worldwide. We aim to educate young people on sex and relationship issues and to empower them to make informed choices on their reproductive health.

Last year, Sexpression volunteers from PCMD ran over 50 successful workshops in 7 schools across Devon and Cornwall and were awarded the University of Plymouth Volunteering Award for 2009. Following our success in Plymouth, we have this year set up Truro and Exeter Sexpression in order expand the service that we provide.

As well as our work within schools we have also been involved in raising money for National AIDS Trust and Eddystone Trust who both work with those affected by HIV and AIDS.
